I have spent a lot of my web designer/developer career working as a freelancer, both independently and with small marketing studios. In addition to the customary web competencies, this work requires an increased emphasis on client interfacing, project management, and comfort with all parts of the website-creation process: from client auditing and definition of goals, through content, design and development, to deployment and support. I enjoy freelance because it challenges you to be talented at numerous things and because no two days are the same.
